How To Use Pinterest for Business

business strategy Jun 19, 2019

Today I want to talk to you about one of my favorite topics, Pinterest! There is a steep learning curve to Pinterest and many people give up before they are able to get any traction on the platform. However, Pinterest has the very real potential to transform your income and business. Here are three reasons I think you need to be using Pinterest to drive traffic to your blog or website.

Free Traffic

I’ve been able to generate an average of 100,000 page views per month to my mental health blog using FREE Pinterest traffic. This is an amazing opportunity for bloggers and content creators to get your work seen by a lot of people. Paying for ads can be a great strategy but who doesn’t want free traffic coming to their site? After one of your pins goes viral it can continue to be shared and drive traffic for months or even years. My top three pins have been driving a significant amount of my traffic for the last year and a half. I don’t really have to do anything to keep them circulating which means they bring traffic to my site every single day on autopilot.

It's The Easiest Way to Get Pageviews ASAP

You’re not going to be able to get pageviews like that from Facebook or Instagram. It’s definitely possible with Google but that can be a long and time-consuming process. Some experts estimate that Google will not even look at your website to consider it to rank for 6-9 months. In addition to the waiting game, your on-page SEO needs to be on point and you need to build up some powerful backlinks to actually rank. None of this is a factor on Pinterest. You can potentially start driving traffic to your site in a much shorter time frame than ranking in Google. Now don’t get me wrong, I think it’s worth learning SEO and trying to rank in Google. I’m just saying that Pinterest is often overlooked as a powerful search engine that has the potential to bring traffic to your site.

Potential Leads

If you’re a coach or online business owner you might be wondering how this applies to you. Bloggers have been using Pinterest for years to drive traffic to their site but it’s often overlooked by other online business owners. Here’s the thing, getting traffic to your site can bring you thousands of new potential leads every single day. I’ve been able to grow my email list to over 37,000 subscribers because I am able to drive traffic to my site every single day. Once they are there I offer them free opt-ins to join my list and before you know it you’ve turned a stranger into a hot lead who knows who you are, is familiar with your work and is potentially ready to buy from you. Trust me, generating new leads every single day on autopilot is a game changer.
